Contract Sewing Mexico FAQ

Common questions about our contract sewing services, production location, capabilities, and how to work with us.

Our production is based in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. We are located directly on the U.S.–Mexico border, which allows for shorter shipping distances and easier facility visits for U.S. and Canadian buyers.
Contract sewing (also called cut-and-sew manufacturing or maquila de costura) is when a brand or buyer hires a production facility to cut fabric and sew finished products on their behalf. You provide the design and specifications; we handle the cutting, stitching, assembly, and finishing.
We focus on non-apparel and apparel-adjacent sewn products, including tote bags, shopping bags, organizer bags, aprons, pillow covers, soft covers, cases, straps, webbing components, textile accessories, and custom soft goods.
We handle light apparel-adjacent items like smocks, bibs, and simple vests. However, complex fashion garments requiring advanced pattern grading, fitted construction, or specialized finishing are generally outside our scope.
Minimums depend on product complexity, materials, and construction. We work with sample quantities, small batches, and mid-size production runs. Contact us with your project details and we'll let you know what's feasible.
Yes, and we recommend it. Starting with a sample lets both sides evaluate the construction, materials, and quality before committing to a full production run. Send us photos, sketches, a tech pack, or a physical sample and we'll review it.
We can help source common materials and fabrics, but many buyers prefer to supply their own. If you're not sure where to get materials, let us know what you need and we can advise on options.
Timelines vary depending on product complexity, quantity, and material availability. Sample development typically takes 1–3 weeks. Production runs depend on order size. We'll provide a timeline estimate after reviewing your project.
Submit your project details through our Request a Quote form. Include photos, dimensions, material preferences, quantity estimates, and any tech pack or sample information. We review every submission and respond with next steps.

Yes. We welcome buyers who want to visit our Tijuana production facility. Being on the U.S.–Mexico border means a visit typically requires just a short drive or flight to San Diego/Tijuana.
We communicate in both English and Spanish. Our team is bilingual, which helps ensure clear communication throughout the production process.

Yes, sample development involves labor, materials, and setup time, so there is typically a cost. Sample pricing depends on product complexity. We'll quote sample costs before proceeding so there are no surprises.
Every project goes through an individual review. We look at the construction, materials, volume, and timeline to determine how we can best support your production needs. This process ensures we give you an accurate quote and realistic expectations from the start.
Our primary focus is manufacturing, not design. However, we can provide guidance on construction methods, material selection, and feasibility. If you need a product designer or pattern maker, we may be able to recommend resources.
We accept PDF, AI, EPS, JPG, PNG, and most common document formats. If you don't have a formal tech pack, clear photos with measurements and construction notes work well for initial evaluation.
